Sumario: ABSTRACT The study "Psych pedagogical proactivity of the teacher at the secondary level of education" was carried out at the National Institutes of Basic Education of Mazatenango during the years 2019 and 2020. It was oriented to investigate the proactivity of the INEB teachers, to recognize their performance as teachers and at the same time as educational counselors in these institutions. To collect the information, a review of indexed documents relevant to the various axes discussed in the report was carried out; Thus, testimonial interviews were also conducted with students, teachers, and principals, making use of the recorder application of a cellular device and in person. Testimonies were requested on specific aspects of their teaching performance and experiences lived in the school environment, with their teachers or students respectively. It should be noted that some versions were recorded in audio and others were collected in writing. The study concluded that INEB teachers are proactive because they all play their role as teachers, showing initiative and didactic creativity in their teaching, encouraging students to work collaboratively to build their learning. In addition, they assume functions of vocational, sexual, and educational orientation for students because, in the National Institutes of Basic Education of Mazatenango, most of the teaching staff is proactive, it is recommended that Educational Administrators take advantage of their leadership to intensify efforts of staff for raising the quality of their performance.
