Sumario: The research called influent factors in the thesis elaboration process for scientific production and research activity of participants of the doctoral program in education sciens had as main objective to analyze the factors that influence the process involved in the thesis elaboration PhD according to the perception of the participants of this academic program. To achieve this objective, an epistemological methodology of the positivist type has been used, under the mixed approach and using descriptive, transversal and projective type research. In total, 115 informant subjects were considered in the inclusion criteria for graduates of the Doctoral Program (with a degree obtained) and doctoral students in the procedure for the preparation and support of the doctoral thesis. The sample selection is of a non-probabilistic type for convenience, therefore, all those who participated in the Program were considered in the analysis of the information. The information was collected through techniques such as observation (offices and section where classes take place), interviews (Program coordinator) and documentary review (DoctoraI Thesis Regulation) from the qualitative approach and a questionnaire to assess personal (family, economic, psychological) and institutional factors using the survey technique aimed at the reporting subjects from the quantitative approach. The findings allowed us to detect the weaknesses and strengths of the Program, but mainly, among other things: the lack of infrastructure, classrooms with minimum technological requirements, the willingness to obtain reliable and viable information on administrative procedures and the lack of guidance for the development and delivery of research papers, as well as the lack of library resources. To complement the research work a proposal was developed that arises as a result of the data previously obtained. The proposal consists of an architectural design of a building that includes administrative offices and classrooms for the Doctorate in Educational Sciences. With this design, the Doctoral Program would be strengthened from the infrastructure point of view, contributing significantly to creating a comfortable and suitable environment that encourages the research and teaching process. Under this concept, an urgent need is projected that must be met given the academic relevance of the highest level educational offered by both the Faculty of Education Sciences and the Autonomous University of Chiriquí.
