Sumario: The plagues that affect the sugar cane cultivations (Saccharum officinarum), are of the most important causes of loses in the field, not only during the growing process but also during harvest and final product as well. One of the most important we find the common name Blind Chicken (Phyllophaga spp.) wire worm (Agriotes spp), spittle bug (Aeneolamia spp), stem borer (Diatraea crambidoides). On this research, we focus in how to control the stem borer plague Diatraea crambidoides since this specific bug is the one that in it´s larval stage attacks the apical meristem during the tillering process in the sugar cane cultivations causing its dead. And during the elongation process as well as maturation the damage caused by this plage is associated with the gallery building to inhabit at the cane most of the time of its life. Five different products were evaluated during the process of control of stem border plague on sugar cane cultivations, applying twice (at 70 and 150 days after harvest) the products of Flubendiamide, Novaluron, Chlorantraniliprol y Triflumuron they as chemical compounds, and Bacillus thurigiensis vr. Kurstaki as biological compund, wich was appied three times (70, 92 and 150 days after harvest) To guarantee the results of this research, after-application samples were taken where we could determine statistically that the best treatment to control is Chlorantraniliprol resulting in 4.39% of infestation intensity decreasing and an average of 250.84 pounds of sugar per ton of cane. However in the economical analysis the best treatment shown is Triflumuron since its Price is Q738.67 resulting in the lowest Price per application on field, this product can be considered as one of the best in commercial stem borer plague control since it was one of the lowest in average results showing 4.46% of infestation intensity decreasing and an average of 240.94 pounds of sugar per ton of cane.
