At present, an amount of 65,000 cubic meters (m3 ) of biogas is produced. The present investigation evaluated the ideal conditions of pre-treatment of raw vinasse, in order to make biogas production more efficient. Its objectives were: to demonstrate at the laboratory level the influence of oxidation times on methane production from pre�treated vinasses under different concentrations of ozone, pH and application time; compare and analyze the results of the pretreatment processes and select the most efficient one; and estimate the economic impact of methane production from pre-treated vinasses with an Advanced Oxidation Process. The pre-treatment evaluated consists in subjecting the raw vinasse to an ozonation process with the objective of oxidizing present by-products that decrease the efficiency of its decomposition. The investigation therefore was based on establishing the ideal conditions in ozone concentration and its application time. The pre-treatment effect was measured through the analysis of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), pH, Total Suspended Solids (SST), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5), total phenols and volatile acids; before and after applying the pre-treatment.
