Sumario: Mangroves are coastal assets crucial to socio-economic development. Many human beings live in coastal areas and many of these communities subsist on these resources. They are a source of fishery products and places for the promotion of ecotourism. This paper provides information about the incidence of termites in the mangroves that make up the mangrove ecosystem in El Reten beach, to provide a first approximation of the existing population of the afore-mentioned insect in El Reten beach. Each tree was examined by evaluating the presence or absence of termites throughout meticulous observations and consequent classification. Visits were made to the area of study in November 2018, April 2019, August 2019, and September 2019.  The percentage of trees found to be inhabited by the termites in the four stages of the study was 26%, 14%, 20% and 22%, respectively.
