ABSTRACT
Curricular adaptations are defined as the set of modifications made to the
content, achievement indicators, activities, evaluation and methodology to address
the various difficulties that may arise in students in the context in which they operate.
In this way, the teaching-learning process is the result of individual cognitive
processes through which new information is assimilated and internalized, the
functionality of the curricular adaptations depends on the teacher and its mode of
application, related to the result obtained through the established competencies.
The present study reveals the functionality of the curricular adjustments applied
in integrated classrooms of the Public Educational System, at the middle level of the
municipality of Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez, for which a series of instruments were
carried out that helped to collect the necessary information. such as the interview,
surveys and observation, within the framework of quantitative research, concluding
that there are few institutions that present adjustments in the middle level.
Throughout this research, teachers were encouraged to recognize the
importance of implementing curricular adaptations, agreeing that the main benefits
they can offer students are improvements in learning, greater group participation,
and reduction in school dropouts; On the other hand, physical space, time and
materials turn out to be the most frequent limitations found in the educational
establishments investigated. |
