Sumario: The research called, The linguistic competences and their relationship with learning styles at the School of Journalism of UNACHI, it consists in determining if the linguistic competences managed by teachers favor student learning. It is oriented under a mixed type approach(use of more than one method), with descriptive and correlationalscope; since it measures the degree of relationship between the variables. Regarding the quantitative paradigm, it is non-experimental transversal considering that the data will be collected in a single moment, cross-sectional and for the qualitative aspect, the action research design was used, because the researcher is involved with the population to know the circumstance and suggest alternatives for improvements. For the quantitative analysis and to verify the reliability of the instrument, it was calculated by Cronbach's alpha coeflicient, resulting in .996 and .861 for students and teachers respectively, which indicated highly acceptable according to the scale. The type of sample was simple random this technique is that allthe elements that make up the universe have the same probability of being selected. After calculating the sampling formula which resulted in: 51 students from first to fourth year of the Degree in Journalism and the questionnaire was applied. For the purpose of the interviews, 12 teachers and 4 authorities were applied. The collection instruments produced significant results since it was possible to show weaknesses in the topic of study. Finally, it is presented as a product of the analysis. reflection and rigorous support of existing theories supported by the findings, the proposed Manual of innovative learning strategies for the effective consolidation of the linguistic competences of the students of the journalism school of UNACHI. The purpose of this manuals is to offer alternatives aimed at teachers and students at the university level, linked to the development of language skills.
