This research describes the emotional impact caused to the family as a result of the
spontaneous abortion, it was developed in rural areas of the Corregimiento of Bugaba, (District
of Bugaba), belonging to the Province of Chiriquí, where the environment and setting of the
participating social actors are located. of the study. It presents a qualitative approach, with an
Exploratory – Descriptive scope and a narrative design of topics; In addition, the sample is
used for convenience and in chains or networks (snowball). Various techniques were used to
collect information such as: open, semi-structured interviews and life stories. Also, a
participant observation matrix is used, during the interviews, to understand the problem
studied through the gestures used by the social actor. On the other hand, theories related to
the topic investigated are investigated, including: the Theory of Emotion, Murray's Systemic
Family Theory, Cognitive Evaluation and the Phases of Grief. In relation to the results
obtained, it is highlighted that spontaneous abortion is a painful and emotionally challenging
experience for families. This loss generates a variety of intense feelings; where each
experience occurs with unique reactions or manifestations of these feelings, requiring different
periods of time to heal and/or adapt to the loss. Emotional support, understanding and
patience are essential elements to help cope with the loss and find emotional healing, as
miscarriage can have a lasting impact on the life of everyone involved.
