Traditional medicine is the result of the accumulation of ancient and traditional knowledge in the application of plants for the elaboration of home remedies. In Panama, traditional medicine requires the support of technologies that allow the production of raw materials in a safe, controlled and efficient manner. The PFAL system is a type of agriculture in a controlled environment that allows the cultivation of plants for study, protection and mass production, under optimized environmental conditions. This type of technology gives rise to sustainable processes for the production of food and medicinal herbs, representing a feasible solution for the environmental problems that affect conventional agriculture. This work details the potential utilities that PFAL technology has for the study, preservation and use of Panamanian flora, evidenced in technological developments carried out in other countries of the first world. |
