Sumario: SUMMARY The Santa María farm in the municipality of Colomba Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango, has 261.47 hectares of Macadamia integrifolia Maiden & Betche "macadamia"; The main problem facing the unit is the presence of the pest Ecdytolopha torticornis "walnut borer" due to its high infestation in recent years, directly attacking the tender and ripe fruits. The attack of this pest causes a decline in the fruit harvest due to perforation, this is due to the larval stage that feeds on the nut until it reaches the almond or kernel, leaving excrement on the epicarp, such as sawdust, evidencing the presence of said pest. plague. To solve this problem, the evaluation of eight chemical insecticides for the control of Ecdytolopha torticornis "walnut borer" in the Macadamia integrifolia crop was planned; working based on a completely randomized block experimental design with nine treatments and three repetitions to determine which chemical insecticide presents greater efficiency for the control of infestation and damage to the endocarp.
