The specific objectives are: to identity whether the cardiac arrest was witnessed by a paramedic or witnesses; determine the place where the prehospital cardiac arrest occurred; determine the initial rhythm of prehospital cardiac arrest; point out the etiology of prehospital cardiac arrest and establish whether there was return of spontaneous circulation. Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive, non experimental retrospective study. The measurement was carried out using a data collection form. The sampling was systematic random costing of 36 patients. Data processing was performed using the statistical package SPSS 22. Results: The study showed that prehospital cardiac arrest was more common in ages above 60 years. The average age of 74.05%. In men it was 72.2 years and in women 77.75 years. The male sex is the most affected with 66.67%. Most of the cases were assisted by relatives (80.56%). The place where cardiac arrest occurred mos frequently was the residence with 75% of the cases, while 25% of the cases of cardiac arrest were reported on public roads. The initial rhythm of cardiac arrest is asystole (80.56%). The etiology of cardiac arrest is of cardiac origin (86.11%) and 92% of the patients had return of spontaneous circulation. Conclusions: The characteristics of prehospital cardiac arrest are specific to each patient and have the ability to intervene in emergency care and more studies on the subject should be carried out.
