Sumario: Nursing studies have incorporated clinical simulation practices as a teaching and learning method with the purpose of familiarizing the student with the environment or situations that they will have to face when performing professionally. The use of simulation greatly favors the preparation of the student, because it contributes to raise their professional profile, since it is an opportunity to strengthen technical criteria, develop skills and, consequently, to reduce errors in patient care, allows teaching the student techniques, movements, and, in short, to achieve learning that will give them greater security and self-confidence. Notwithstanding the importance of this topic, research on simulation practices in Panama is very scarce, so we have been motivated to conduct a study whose objectives are: 1. To diagnose the use of simulation practices in the development of courses of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the Autonomous University of Chiriqui. To develop and categorize the simulation practices that enhance the development of competencies and skills in the future nursing professional. To determine the relationship between the simulation practices carried out by nursing students and the competencies that the market requires of this professional, and to propose a manual of simulation practices to strengthen the teaching strategies of the Faculty of Nursing at the Autonomous University of Chiriqui. The opinion expressed by the participants of the sample consulted in the research allowed us to confirm the convenience of having a guide that will effectively contribute to the formation of integral and safe professionals with the capacity to make the right decisions in patient care.
