Sumario: The changing and dynamic context in which companiescompete leads them to seek mechanisms to differentiate themselves and add value to their customers. From this perspective, they are forced to constantly innovate. Likewise, their internal capacities, especially SMEs, are limited and that is why they turn to external agents to carry out co-creation processes. Although the issue of cooperation and co-creation between actors has been studied, the degree of communication between the various actors and their participation in the stages of the innovation project is not explored. The objective of this paper is to analyze the degree of communication and participation of certain stakeholders (customers, suppliers, universities) in the different stages of the innovation process of manufacturing and service companies. For this, an index on communication between actors is established. This work contributes to understanding what are the roles assumed by the different actors in innovation processes and how they behave depending on various characteristics of the companies.
