Water is the main and essential element for the economic development and growth of societies. Thechallenges that our country is facing are prominent due to climate change and to the population growth. The main challenge will be to meet the needs with better management of water resources. Water participates in all the processes in the manufacture of products; but the high consumption in its manufacture is ignored. It is proposed to optimize consumption, applying energy efficiency in the use of water, through awater labeling on products so that consumers are informed of the participation of water and choose to purchase products with the lowest water consumption footprint. Manufacturers are expected to implement the reduction in water management. The high consumption of goods and services due to population growth is the greatest concern that exists about the pressure on water resources preservation. |
