Sumario: Paramachaerium gruberiis a timber tree species endemic to Panama and Costa Rica; its distribution is limited to Puerto Armuelles, Burica Peninsula (Panama) and Fila Carbonera, Osa Peninsula (Costa Rica). The natural population of P. gruberi is threatened by logging and agricultural and livestock activities. There are few studies on this species; those that have been carried out deal with germination and micropropagation, all performed under experimental conditions controlled at the laboratory level. There are no studies of the natural conditions in which P. gruberi develops and the effect of human activities on its natural population. This species is ecologically vulnerable and requires more information to be established to establish strategies for its conservation.
