The cooperative movement, a milestone of social innovation itself, represents a powerful tool to implement effective innovation programs in the traditional means of production and to accompany, with funding and follow-up, ventures targeting non-conventional sectors. Cooperatives share many of the basic concepts of social innovation and their structuring around a value system, their commitment to communities,theinvestment of resources in the promotion of education, culture, creativity and dedicationto the young people, make them ideal entities to drive the changes that social innovation requires.
