Sumario: The general objective of this research, Experiences, challenges and attitudes of university student mothers during their training process, is to “Describe the experiences of university student mothers in the personal, family and academic environment.” To carry out the study, we worked with eight (8) social actors, who reside in different geographical areas of the province of Chiriquí: David, Bugaba, La Concepción and Victoria, who carry out their academic studies at the Autonomous University of Chiriquí, David headquarters. It has a qualitative approach, with its respective characteristics. Its scope is exploratory descriptive, with a topical narrative design, which allows us to know and identify the experiences of the participants. The homogeneous sample is used and the information obtained was through participant observation, semi-structured interview and focus group techniques. Regarding the theories linked to the research problem, we have: Role Balance Theory, Reasoned Action Theory, Coping Strategies Theory. The results obtained reveal the experiences, challenges and attitudes and coping strategies, the latter as an emerging category, that the social actors have presented when playing the various roles to fulfill personal, family and university commitments and thus achieve compliance with the established goal: obtain your university degree.
