Sumario: The objective of this essay is to reflect on why indigenous people of Latin America are demanding the right to have an education with cultural acceptance, their education that takes into account the cultural elements and the history of their people. For indigenous people, the right to transmit traditional knowledge to the next generation is very important as part of the processes of recovery and vindication in difficult moments that Mother Earth lives. Intercultural bilingual education has been an alternative to improve learning and teaching methods, taking the mother tongue as a vehicle for transmitting knowledge and at the same time strengthening identity.
