Ten quantitative variables were compared. There were statistically significant differences between evaluation dates for the following fruit variables: weight, width, thickness, number of complete longitudinal sutures, number of incomplete longitudinal sutures, length/width ratio, and length/thickness ratio. There were no significant differences for fruit length, number of fruit spines, and fruit width/thickness ratio. This is the first notice about the morphological variability in tacaco fruits of a single population along the time. These results provide evidence of the gene flow magnitude in this species. Se evaluaron las características morfológicas de los frutos de una población de tacaco en Costa Rica, en dos fechas diferentes: junio de 2013 y setiembre de 2015. Se compararon 10 variables cuantitativas. Se presentaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las fechas de evaluación para las siguientes variables del fruto: peso, ancho, grosor, número de suturas longitudinales completas, número de suturas longitudinales incompletas, relación longitud/ ancho, y relación longitud/grosor. No se encontraron diferencias significativas para las variables longitud del fruto, número de espinas del fruto, y relación ancho/grosor del fruto. En la presente investigación se informa por primera vez sobre la variabilidad morfológica en frutos de tacaco a través del tiempo en una población.
