The results show that Innovation affects the development of countries. The biggest contribution is on economic development, followed by the social development El objetivo de este artículo es medir la incidencia de la investigación y desarrollo e innovación en el desarrollo de los países, a través de la estimación de modelos econométricos de corte transversal, en los que la variable dependiente está representada por índices de desarrollo y las variables explicativas son gastos de investigación y desarrollo e índice de innovación. Los resultados evidencian que la innovación incide sobre el desarrollo de los países.
