Sumario: ABSTRACT Within the farm Asociación San Dionisio has been increasing the cultivation of macadamia Macadamia integrifolia currently has 17.2 hectares in production and 10 hectares in growth and with it the pest of the walnut borer Ecdytolopha torticornis has been increasing, through the diagnosis it lengthens that it is the most important pest, since the percentage of infestation is 20%. To reduce the infestation of larvae and the percentage of damage from this pest, chemical and biological products were used that allowed the improvement of the yield of the macadamia crop, where one chemical and three biological products were produced. The chemical used was Endolsufan 35% (Thiodan) and the biological products are Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus (VPN Ultra 1.6 WP), Azadirachta indica (Botanical ACT 0.003 SC) and Beauveria bassiana (Teraboveria 0.025 SC), it was used more biological products since the Association wants to obtain a certification that determines that the production is organic. The investigation was carried out in the San Dionisio Association in the Santa Ana sector where these four aforementioned insecticides and an absolute control were evaluated, taking photographs before and after each application in the case of larva infestation, nut damage and yield. Two applications were made during the investigation in which the described objectives were met. Having the following results with respect to the unknowns described in the problem statement, it is limited that the best insecticide is based on B. bassiana (Teraboveria 0.025) reduced larvae infestation to 8.5%, nut damage was reduced from 18% to 5%, obtaining a mortality rate of 31%, increasing 45.4 kg/ha yield in shell and an income of Q. 800.00/ha which makes it the best treatment in second place is the Polyhedrosis Virus Nuclear (VPN ultra 1.6 WP) where it was reduced from 19% to 13%, a mortality of 5% and its income when applying this product increases to Q. 140.00/ha.
