Nutritional education is of vital importance for all people, especially those who suffer
from a chronic disease such as arterial hypertension, since, through it, they are
encouraged to make changes in eating habits and lifestyles, in this way direct people
to choose the healthiest and promote correct medical and nutritional treatment.
The objectives of this research were to determine the efficacy of innovative nutritional
education, to compare the eating habits of people with and without nutritional
education, to establish behavioral and dietary differences between both groups, and
to record the variability of systolic and diastolic arterial hypertension before and after
of the educational intervention, to find out if it is statistically significant and to evaluate
adherence to nutritional treatment in those who had Nutritional Education.
The study was experimental, descriptive and correlational, since it sought to collect
anthropometric data in the population, and to know the eating habits and lifestyles,
before and after the nutritional intervention.
The main results show that there was a significant positive change in blood pressure.
The weight also improved after the intervention presented an expected weight loss.
Additionally, 18 of 25 people presented positive results in eating habits, finding that of
the 25 people in the experimental group, 12 had 100% adherence to nutritional
treatment and these presented positive changes in all indicators of weight, blood
pressure and eating habits. food, only one person had 0% adherence to nutritional
treatment.
