Sumario: Currently information and communication technologies (ICT) are being utilized by a great number of people world wide in almost all their activities, also being observed in educational institutions. This investigation intends to look at the impact of ICT in the student´s process of learning and the teacher´s process of teaching in the San Justino de Jacobis School located in the Province of Veraguas in the Republic of Panama. Within this investigation, the subjects of the technologies, concepts, characteristics, their advantages and disadvantages, and the process of learning and teaching have been explored. This led directly to the preparation and collection of the data in the school using a survey and checklist directed to the teachers and students. In relation to the results that were obtained, it was determined that 100% of the teachers and 95% of the students are aware of and know how to use ICT. Moreover, other results were analyzed regarding which ICT the teachers use in the learning process, and it was found that 71% and 64 % of the teachers have computers and cellphones available for teaching and that these technologies are the most used. The use of ICT has a positive impact in both the process of learning by the students and the teaching process by the teachers. Finally, a virtual education proposal of formative classes for teachers was presented in order that the teachers might efficiently use technological tools in their didactic work.
