Sumario: ABSTRACT The research was conducted in primary schools, located in the city of Mazatenango, Suchitepequez, applying the technique of case studies. They were analyzed five cases of children with suspected symptoms of learning disabilities and have been incorporated into the program of curricular adjustments. Psychopedagogy questionnaire and interviews with teachers and staff working in the Departmental Suchitepequez, in order to assess the adquacy curriculum applied in schools investigated were analyzed. The steps to plan the curriculum reform on campus are explicitly technical educational psychology; the main barrier is the lack of teacher knowledge to detect psychopathological problems that affect learnig of the child. This causes mediators teaching and learning from being conditioned to use the curricular adjustments and adaptation of their intellectual abilities official curriculum. Children are often victims of stigma and discrimination to “special” considering them prior to a psychological study. To conclude, it was found that the faculty and staff of the Ministry of Education not ideally provide services to meet the educational population with symptoms of Special Educational Needs, so choose to refer children to psychological Clinic Hospital of Mazatenango. To investigate the object of study were served five children applying psychotherapeutic techniques and psychometric and projective tests, such as: Test family, Goodenough, self-esteem and general intelligence and lower I.G.-82. Thus according to the amount of psychotherapeutic sessions, it is concluded that the adequacy of the curriculum involves the classification and adaptation of content, programs, pedagogical skills and special educational needs with and without physical disabilities objectives child.
