Sumario: ABSTRACT This research addressed the problem of discipline and academic training in students in the basic level of the middle level. For this purpose, a general objective was developed that was: To determine the influence of discipline and academic training on students of the National Institute of Basic Education with Occupational Orientation -INEBO-, morning session, in the Municipality of San Pablo Jocopilas, Suchitepéquez. To carry out the study, quantitative research was applied, for which a comprehensive review of the scientific theory on discipline, academic training, disciplinary regulations and adolescence was carried out, which served to analyze the surveys of teachers, parents of family, students and the interview with the principal. Among the main findings of the research, the factors that cause students to have a rebellion in their academic training are: lack of attention of parents regarding their psychological, emotional and physical changes, so that most resort to their friendships to balance or solve their problems, as a result, cases of indiscipline are generated in the classroom. The investigation concludes that the lack of affection and the activities that the adolescent carries out, creates in them deep confusions of emotional order. Parents, educators and authorities must sow and challenge the moral and psychological situation of adolescents, however, the study found that parents only want positive results in the academic training of adolescents, but are not attentive to they.
