Sumario: This research work is an analysis of the factors that influence the learning of listening and speaking skills in students of Eleventh grade at Lilly Pedroza public school in Ochomogo, Nandaime during the second semester 2016. The main benefited of this research will be the learners of secondary school at Lilly Pedroza because it will help them to gain interest and confidence in the learning of English Language as a second language which is very important for them when starting their studies at the university. Another benefit will be for the English teacher because it will help the teacher to determine the incidence of active methodology in teaching learning process of English Language, so that, the teacher will make the necessary changes to improve her teaching methodology in this school. Furthermore, this research work will be useful as a reference material to other public schools and institutes to improve their teaching methodologies in the subject of English as a second language Also, based on the results of the research project, some suggestions and recommendations will be given in order to increase the level of performance of the students in speaking and listening of the English language. That way, the learners will have more job opportunities in order to help and improve their families’ life quality.
