In this project was made the process to get a biomaterial with properties of superficial protection of iron, with shell nut oil from India (Anacardium occidentale) it is known in the literature as Cashew Net Shell Liquid - CNSL. This biomaterial gets a shell that protects the nut, and this one has caustic oil, which is known as cardol. This substance also has excellent inhibitory characteristics of the iron corrosion, also contains phenols, they are known because of their antioxidants properties on new and rusted superficies, it has good accession and finished, also has an appropriate chemical resistance and outdoor resistance. This CNSL can be obtained through an extraction process with organic solvents. In this project the CNSL extraction was made with different phases and they are: shell grinded, oil extraction with linden acetate, and oil distillation. After this is done, were made some examples of blue steel. Then, we get results that show the quality or an anticorrosive property from the extraction of the shell nut from India, also we show the different ways that we can use it, as they are often discarded. In this way we can show that the anticorrosive we get, it is able to protect pieces of metal what are exposed to an atmospherics tropical condition. |
