Sumario: In order to reduce the impact of disposing solid waste in the environment and knowing the problems that exist in Panama on garbage issues, the use of plastic as a reinforcing element of concrete in the construction of sidewalks elements is proposed. For this purpose, specimens were built and subjected to tests to determine if the implementation of this method is viable compared to traditional methods. For the mixture, 9.0 Kg / m3 of plastic was used, in which this percentage was chosen with reference to the tests carried out in the research Study of Mechanical Properties of the Concrete reinforced with recycled polypropylene fibers, work done by Engineer Carlos González
