Sumario: ABSTRACT The personal, family, socioeconomic factors, educational system, pedagogical-didactic immersed within the school repetition, has been one of the problems presented by Guatemalan education, every year there are more students enrolled in the Mineduc platform, because there is a close relationship between economic development and the educational level since the higher the educational level a person has, the greater the probability of obtaining a better job. Along with the increase in enrollment in educational institutions, the number of students with repetition problems has increased. The municipality of San Antonio Suchitepéquez, Suchitepéquez, is not the exception year after year the number of repeating students increases, especially in the National Institute of Basic Education. Therefore, the research is entitled: "Factors that determine the repetition in students of the National Institute of Basic Education of the Municipality of San Antonio Suchitepéquez, Suchitepéquez" and is aimed at establishing which of the factors mentioned above are determinants and that some way leads to school repetition. Its approach and treatment breaks down and describes the guidelines of the students as well as the methodological limitations applied by the teachers in the classroom and those who are directly affected are the students. For this reason, repetition has been referred to as a serious problem in Guatemalan education and in most cases has affected rural sectors and even urbanized sectors, such as the National Institute of Basic Education. Since the distribution of coverage in each region of the country is unequal, this obliges the Ministry of Education to analyze: 1. The quality of education that is being taught to students, 2. If the level of learning achieved is as expected and 3. If the Family socioeconomic factor directly influences the level of student learning.
