RESUMEN
El concepto de red social ha adquirido una importancia notable en los últimos años. Se ha convertido en una expresión del lenguaje común que se asocia a nombres como Facebook o Twitter, por mencionar algunas. Son pues las redes sociales, una forma innovadora y creativa de mantener contacto con otras personas, de compartir información, de socializar y sentir empatía y sentimientos hacia el otro.
En este sentido, durante el estudio realizado, se hizo uso de diferentes métodos y técnicas de investigación social que permitieron establecer la implicación que presentan las redes sociales en el rendimiento escolar de estudiantes del INEB de San Pablo Jocopilas, Suchitepéquez. De acuerdo a la metodología utilizada, esta tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, ya que a la vez que se establecieron resultados cuantitativos, también se obtuvieron datos cualitativos que fueron fundamentales en dicho estudio; aunado a ello se hizo uso de instrumentos de investigación como boletas de encuesta, las que fueron aplicadas a estudiantes, docentes y director del centro educativo. Con ello se hizo un estudio sistemático y profundo, ya que se buscó realizar una triangulación de datos, con la finalidad de comprobar la realidad que se vive sobre el problema abordado desde distintos puntos de vista.
Finalizada la investigación, se pudo evidenciar que la implicación que tienen las redes sociales en el rendimiento escolar es significativa; ya que los estudiantes las utilizan para realizar distintos procesos o actividades diarias, en los diferentes ámbitos en los cuales se desenvuelven, como en el seno familiar, campo laboral, ámbito educativo, entre otros. Pero además, algunos no les dan el uso adecuado, utilizándolas por periodos muy extensos y para fines exclusivamente de diversión y ocio, lo que al final repercute en su rendimiento escolar. Determinado así que si se aprovechan las redes sociales, éstas vienen a conformar un instrumento tecnológico que permita actualizar procesos educativos, conformándose como una estrategia educativa que facilite la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de los educandos de una manera integral e innovadora.
ABSTRACT
The concept of social network has acquired a significant importance in recent years. It has become an expression of the common language that associates names like Facebook or Twitter, to mention a few. They are social networks, an innovative and creative way to maintain contact with other people, to share information, to socialize and to feel empathy and feelings towards the other.
In this sense, during the study, different methods and techniques of social research were used to establish the social networks' involvement in the school performance of students of the INEB of San Pablo Jocopilas, Suchitepéquez. According to the methodology used, this one had a quantitative and qualitative approach, since at the same time that quantitative results were established, also qualitative data were obtained that were fundamental in that study; Together with the use of research instruments such as questionnaires, which were applied to students, teachers and the director of the educational center. This made a systematic and profound study, as it was sought to perform a triangulation of data, in order to verify the reality that is experienced on the problem addressed from different points of view.
After the investigation, it was possible to show that the involvement of social networks in school performance is significant; Since students use them to perform different processes or daily activities, in the different areas in which they develop, such as in the family, work field, educational field, among others. In addition, some do not give them the proper use, using them for very long periods and for purposes exclusively of fun and leisure, which ultimately impacts on their school performance. Determined so that if social networks are used, they come to form a technological instrument that allows updating educational processes, conforming as an educational strategy that facilitates the teaching and learning of learners in an integral and innovative way. |
