Sumario: The research addresses the factors impeding the academic training of women in rural areas Sector Fatima, the Municipality of San Antonio Suchitepéquez, caused by prejudices and customs of the parents and the rest of the population, regarding the participation of women in schools, they are in a lower step , it denied opportunities and access to public resources , reflected in the statistics as those who suffer the highest rate of illiteracy , poverty, mortality , fertility and violence. The documentary research used to develop the theoretical framework helped to confirm that is less access of women to educational development and this limits the integral development of rural women who reflect the highest degree of affectation of poverty and extreme poverty in the Guatemalan population. In the analysis and discussion through field research, based on testimonies of some women living sector, it has been helpful to identify the structural pillars that currently legitimize violence against women, marginalization and discrimination in finding your self -improvement and profesional In conclusion, the challenges facing women in rural areas today are the lack of academic development, planning advice to the responsibility of being housewife and working woman. In any situation the State of Guatemala, government agencies must ensure welfare and common development familiar to all those women who struggle to succeed as professionals in the social level according to their skills and academic preparation.
