Sumario: ABSTRACT In Finca Santa Lucia II, there is production of African Palm (Elaeis guineensis), which currently has 237 Hectares, under the administration of the Hame group; the crop was established in 2014 and it started to be harvested in May 2016. Therefore, being a young palm plantation, it requires efficient agronomic management in the work. At Finca Santa Lucía II, chemical control is used in the silver area for weed control of the African Palm. This work is necessary because it helps to observe in a better way the fruits that are detached from the bunch, which indicates that the fruit began its maturation process and when weeds are present in the silver area, it is difficult to determine this maturation process. the fruit, as well as it is difficult to collect the fruits that the bunch releases when cutting. In the applications of herbicides, the molecules of glyphosate and methosulfuron methyl are used. Which adding all the operations that lead to the control of weeds, there is a high cost in doses per hectare of the mixture of the aforementioned herbicides. This investigation consisted of evaluating three doses of glyphosate being 1.25 l / Ha, 1.5 l / Ha, 2.0 l / Ha, and three doses of Metsulfuron 10.08 gr / Ha, 15.04 gr / Ha, 20.08 gr / Ha. Establishing nine mixtures that reduce the cost that this work represents, for the control of weeds in a chemical way. To take into account the weeds found on the farm, the Relevé method was used, where 11 species were found in Finca Santa Lucia II, among which the Rottboelia cochinchinensis species with 67.80%, Digitaria eriantha 41.07%, Cynodon dactylon 40.84%, Ipomoea nil 39.54% and Cyperus rotundus 39.83%. In the trial, a randomized block design was used with a bifactorial arrangement, with nine treatments, each treatment was 110 palms, the total area of the investigation was 6.31 hectares, where it was analyzed at 30, 60, 90 days after application.
