Sumario: This seminar is about factors that increase the affective filter in the development of the English Speaking skill with the new curricular transformation in students of 9th grade; its main objective is to analyze the factors that interfere in the students´ learning when using English in a communicative context in order to look for effective strategies and techniques that help students to overcome their difficulties and get a meaningful learning. For the development of this research topic the issues addressed are: The new curriculum, the Speaking skill, the affective filter. It also analyzed the main factors that increase the affective filter in the students while using the target language in a communicative way. With regard to the conclusions, it is concluded that there is not confidence neither motivation toward learners, there is also lack of individual attention due to the quantity of students in the classroom for that reason they need motivating activities and more time to learn English. On the other hand, the educative system continues to be a barrier for the students´ learning (assessment, programs). Unless teachers respect the students‟ learning styles and rhythm, it is very difficult for students to overcome a high affective filter. It was found that students want to learn English, and are interested in the subject, but the teaching techniques and strategies are not according to students´ preferences which decrease their level of motivation because of routine activities that make them refuse to participate and become passive students
