Anxiety can be defined as a state in which people react to situations perceived as threatening with a feeling of fear or terror that can not be controlled or managed (Acevedo 2014), while aggressiveness is a response to a conflict in order to harm them physically or emotional to another person (Quijano 2015).
Research determines the relationship between anxiety and aggression in children of school age of sixth grade students.
The objective of the research was to establish the relationship between anxiety and aggression in children of school age (Sixth grade) of the Reina Torres de Arauz school. The design of the research is non-experimental and the type of study is cross-correlational. We worked with a total of 30 students of both sexes of sixth grade. A Likert-type scale was applied to diagnose anxiety, adaptation of the CMAS-R standardized test (2011) and Likert-type scale to know the aggressive AQ attitudes of Buss and Perry Spanish adaptation (2002).
Among the results obtained it was found that anxiety and aggressiveness have a significant direct relationship Pr = (.544 P = 0.03) Since anxiety is characterized by anger or irritability behaviors which can cause an aggressive response, discrepancy between genders in terms of aggressiveness is important to consider a social problem by violent behavior, along with the consistent finding where it involves mostly the female gender in responding with aggressive attitudes. |
