Sumario: In this article I analyze the Costa Rican Spanish words of the A and B letters that appear in the twenty second edition of the digital DRAE, of 2003. A survey was made to 88 people between 17 and 78 years, women and men in five provinces of Costa Rica. The survey has as goal to determine the use of each term. The conclusion was that there are some words that are unknown for new generations and others that we don’t understand how they got to be in the DRAE, because they don’t appear in any dictionary of Costa Rican Spanish words.
